At GCC, we have a high view of the church, because it is in the context of the local church that the Word of God does its work in the People of God. So we take our involvement and commitment in each other's lives seriously: not like a social club, but like a family.
If you'd like to learn more about the church or talk to our leadership about involvement, membership or anything else, we'd love for you to contact us.
Become a Member
If you're ready to take the next steps toward becoming a member, welcome! Here's what you'll do next: Get in touch. Drop us a line to let us know you're thinking about membership. Chances are you've already met some of the members or leaders at the church, but we'll want to take some time to talk, pray, and get to know each other better. Learn about membership. We've tried to think through what church membership really means, according to the Bible, and we want you to be looped in. Start by listening to the Membership Sermon Series, which explores several key aspects of church membership in-depth. You can also explore the church's Core Values and Membership Covenant to get a better idea of what membership entails.
Read the Doctrinal Statement. To have genuine fellowship, it's important that we all agree on the most important points taught in the Bible. Read through the church's doctrinal statement carefully and prayerfully, and talk about it with your spouse or family if applicable.
Connect with the Body. As a church family, we spend a lot of time in each other's lives. Come worship with us, fellowship with us, and get to know the others in the church. Stretch yourself a little, and connect with older, younger, or different people you might not normally meet.
Apply for membership. We'll ask a few questions that'll help us go deeper. They're simple questions, although they might not be easy. There are no wrong answers, so answer honestly and completely. This will help us gauge where you are spiritually, and start ongoing conversations to help you learn, grow, and serve more effectively. (Good to know: your application will be private, only shared with the church leadership.) Get up in front. We'll want to officially welcome you! When the time is right, we'll have a special confirmation during our worship service. You'll share a brief testimony and take the membership vows, the leaders will pray for you, and the church will welcome you as one of our own.
