Many in Jesus' day were skeptical of His claims, even as many are today. But not because what Jesus said about himself was difficult; rather, because His claims are challenging for the self-centered and worldly person. Jesus preached a lifestyle of repentance. He taught people to run away from their sin, and run to God instead. But though what Jesus offers us is an easy burden to bear, our own burden of sin is a difficult one to put down.
