​Very often we see only what we want to see, and it's easy to come up with excuses and explanations that allow us to keep from putting our faith in Christ. Such was the case with many in Jesus' time, who refused to believe Jesus was the long-awaited savior on the basis that Messiah, according to prophesy, must be born in Bethlehem as a descendant of King David. But their doubts were presumptuous, and Jesus' personal history was much more aligned with prophesy than they wanted to believe.
